The Los Angeles City Department of Recreation and Parks opened a major sports center in the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area in 1962.
Photograph caption dated February 25, 1978 reads "Basketball players on one of the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Center courts." Several men are on the court watching on attempting to make a basket. There is a large field and trees beyond them. The recreation center is located in Encino, a Los Angeles neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley.
