Photograph caption dated July 1, 1963 reads "Mrs. Betty Cryderman finds organizing a parade has its hazards, especially when the participants include youngsters on tricycles. The children shown here were among several hundred who joined in the third annual Freedom Season Children's Parade Saturday under the sponsorship of the Woodland Hills Women's Club. The event is part of the community-wide Freedom Season celebration which runs from Flag Day to Independence Day. The Valley Youth Band provided the patriotic marching music as the costumed youngsters paraded from Shoup Ave. and Ventura Blvd., up Shoup to Woodland Hills Park, where a celebration topped the procession."
