Description
Photograph of the veranda of Rancho Agua Hedionda (also known as the Keller Ranch), ca.1930. The upstairs porch is shown, an adobe wall in disrepair visible to the left, much of its spackle crumbling from the brick. In the foreground, an open portal appears to be a door, although a second, framed door is visible at the far end of the wooden veranda, along with a framed window. Carved support beams hold the slanted overhang at left, and are linked together by what appear to be either wrought-iron bars or wooden slats. This was the home of Sylvester Marron, and was located on the southeast side of Buena Vista Creek, 3 miles east of Carlsbad (Carlsburg?).
