The United States Army Corps of Engineers is a federal agency developed under the Department of Defense for the purpose of constructing dams, canals, and flood protection. It was founded in 1775 and still remains operational today. Their most notable projects consists of the Panama Canal, The Manhattan Project, federal building the Pentagon, and the Washington Monument.
