Description
Photograph of a view of Hill Street looking north from Temple Street, Los Angeles, ca.1906. A man stands with his hands on his hips in the middle of Hill Street in the center foreground. A building to the right of him bears an advertisement for Western Star Soap. People walk along the sidewalk behind him. A wrought-iron fence stands in front of a two-story house further back, which is partially obscured by trees. In the background, the a clock tower can be seen. More Victorian-style residences line the street to the right. Utility poles enter the frame from the right foreground. The streets are apparently unpaved.
