Photograph was edited for publication purposes Travel Town, an outdoor museum in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, was dedicated in 1952. The Southern Pacific Company, was willing to donate an obsolete locomotive to be the first train on exhibit. The Los Angeles City Recreation and Park Department's museum is visited each week by hundreds of youngsters and adults who are interested in the development of transportation. The focus of the museum is rail transportation, but other items are on display. Photograph caption dated April 28, 1954 reads "Giving Travel Town a 100-year span in transportation history is this guided missile, 'The V-1,' donated by California Institute of Technology. City Park and Recreation Department workers Robert Jacques, left, and Victor Baines, install the missile which Travel Town directors believe will give children an idea of what is to come in air transportation."; See images #00121174 through #00121182 for all photos in this series.
