Description
Photograph of a panoramic view of the Long Beach pier, Los Angeles, ca.1926. Beachgoers are pictured along the shoreline and in the water in the foreground, behind which the large spiral slide of an amusment park can be seen at center. Farther right, a flat-roofed building with multiple stories features the sign "State Theatre". To the left, the tallest building in the image is visible behind what appears to be a civic building, which is decorated with a number of striped banners. Handwritten over the ocean to the far left near the heads of two swimmers is the information "1763 W. Vernon Avenue. Aerograph Co. 674 LA.". A second sign to the extreme bottom left reads "Crescent Ice Cream". Other various signs include: "Auditorium Studio", "Films", "Hotel De Luxe", "Rooms & Apts.", "Lee's Sandwiches", "Pacific Southwest Building", "Bill's Place" and "Pacific Ice Cream".
