Description
The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on August 16, 1972 states "South Lake Tahoe's appearance should improve dramatically by Sept. 28 - the deadline for removal of 17 large billboards, including these two, a half-dozen off-premises signs and reduction in size of about 24 other nonconforming signs. The action is the result of a city sign ordinance change five years ago, the period of time given businesses to confirm with the new regulation."
