Photograph caption dated June 24, 1965 reads "Mrs. Thomas F. Ryan, 80 years old Sunday, receives a 'Happy Birthday' serenade from a clan of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of godchildren who all assembled at her son's La Canada home to celebrate the occasion. Mrs. Ryan, who can remember the first telephone and first TV, has lived in the Valley since 1920."
