Description
Photograph of aerial view of flooding of the Santa Ana River near Colton, showing a break in the levee, ca.1930. The fields of crops on either side of the wide river at center are brightened by the lightly-colored water which flows between their rows. Tree tops can be seen in the water's edge on the far bank with puddles in the fields further back. Water breaks through levees on the right, further down the river, allowing the water to spill over the land on either side.
