V1p273c In PHOTO ALBUM-VAULT: ** fc917.9461 A3, Vol. I, page 273 bottom. This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco." Text written to left of photo: "Market St. at Eddy St. 1907. Cummins 'Home Town Paper' stand on corner." View looks northeast on Market from just west of Eddy and Powell. The sidewalks are crowded. A stand has been set up in the foreground just off the sidewalk, for an unknown purpose. Three women and a man are waiting on the safety island in the middle of Market for one of the outbound streetcars. Another car has just turned off of Market onto Eddy. Horse-drawn conveyances are in abundance. The Flood Building is on the left side of Market; the Emporium and the Call and Humboldt Savings Bank buildings can be seen on the right.
