Title supplied by cataloger.
An explosion detonated in a truck parking lot and corrugated metal storage building at 662 S. Mateo St. The explosion was caused by a load of corrosive chemicals in a warehouse of a trucking firm.
Photograph caption reads: "Debris on Mateo Street from bomb". Fire hoses and firemen are at the scene of an explosion that ripped through the industrial area of downtown Los Angeles. Debris litters the street. Photograph dated: Aug. 17, 1974.
