Photograph caption dated October 10, 1964 reads, "In the lineup against cancer are Mrs. Sam C. Stone, left, and Mrs. Jerome Mark, president of the Encino Auxiliary of Women Against Cancer. They hand an invitation to Dodger Ron Fairly and his wife, Mary, to the auxiliary's dinner-dance to be held Oct. 17 in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the benefit of the Western Institute for Cancer and Leukemia Research. Elmer Bernstein will conduct the ABC Orchestra and an all-star cast of stage, screen and television personalities will perform. Tickets are $50 and reservations may be obtained by telephoning the institute at VErmont [sic] 8-1128. More than 750 persons are expected to attend."
