Description
This November 11, 1933, photograph shows Armistice Day's American Legion-sponsored "Military Pageant" at Sacramento Stadium, located on the campus of Sacramento Junior College at 3835 Freeport Boulevard. After the display, Sacramento Junior College's "Panthers" took on the University of California, Berkeley's junior varsity "Ramblers" in a football tilt. The visiting Berkeley second-stringers victored 20 to 6 with SJC's only score coming on a touchdown pass from Jack Parker to Bob Coe. The venue was renamed Hughes Stadium in November 1944.
