Description
The main entrance to the old California State Fair at Broadway and Stockton Boulevard circa 1950 teems with children and adults heading toward the Agriculture Building. For more than 50 years the site served as California’s fairgrounds, taking over from the earlier spot near the State Capitol building and giving way in the late 1960s to the current location at Cal Expo. The black and white postcard is as much a product of its time as the ties and suspenders on the men and hats on men and women indicate the way people still dressed during the Post-War years.
