On a highway that winds through some of the loftiest mountains in Southern California, the big motor caravan carrying Japanese evacuees from Los Angeles is shown on March 23, 1942, on its way to Owens Valley, where they will live in the new boom town, "Little Tokio in the Mountains," for the duration.
