Description
Reports of his actions & doings since letter of 14 May. Encloses copies of three treaties made by him with Indians north & south of King River. Describe the country & tribes. Having exhausted his supply of presents & money, discharged military. Encloses copy of letter to Cap. Keyes & copy of reply. Mentions outbreak of Indians and difficulties with whites in valleys of Tulare and San Joaquin. Has troubles with miners on Indian reserves. Need more funds. Will return to San Joaquin. Request permission to visit his family in Kentucky next winter.
