Mary Pickford was a Canadian-born silent film actress, famously known as "America's sweetheart," co-founder of American Artists film studio, and one of the original founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Buddy Rogers was an actor and a jazz musician.
First photograph caption dated November 11, 1943 reads "'Buddy' Rogers, producer and Mary Pickford, president of Comet Productions, Inc." The couple may be at the premiere of 'Guadalcanal diary,' a 1942 World War Two film.; Second photograph caption dated May 13, 1946 reads "Photos show Mary Pickford, president, and Buddy Rogers, producer of Comet Productions, Inc."
