Description
Photograph caption dated January 30, 1947 reads, "Employes [sic] of a dress shop in the 8300 block on West Third street and a next-door butcher shop examine damage after gas explosion tore a big hole in wall between the two stores. A manikin, broken in blast, lies in smashed shop window." Pictured are (l to r): Anne Beberstein, Jay Prager, Joe Weinbaum, who was in the butcher shop next door, and Mariam Schwartz, who turned on the light switch causing the explosion of wall between dress shop and meat market.
