1989-1199. In: [Scenes of Sacramento] [manuscript] / Eugene Walter Hepting. [Sacramento, Calif. : E. Hepting, 1938?], Vol. C, leaf 6. Corner view of a two story building; on the left side there are 9 2nd floor vertical windows and on the right side of the building there are four vertical windows; right next to the principle building is on the right another two story building with the same tall windows on the second floor with 3 windows per section; this second building has arched opening on the ground level, while the principle building has rectangular windows and door on the 1st floor;the second building on the right has continued the roof line and roof decoration of the principle building; on the left three parked cars sit in front and on the right one car is parked diagonally; groups of people gather on the corner and two single men are crossing the street, one behind the other. Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento. "B.F. Hastings Company, Bankers, "30" Jay street,,erected in 1853.One of the first banks of Sacramento, in business from 1851 until 1871 when it failed in business. The building was once occupied by the State Library, State Supreme Court, and The Wells Fargo Company.
