Maria Penate and 4-year old daughter, Nubya, have slept in a water tight tent, every night, in front of their damaged apartment building on Witmer Street, since the big 6.1 earthquake shook the Whittier area. They will try and sleep indoors tonight to stay dry from the expected rains. Photo dated: October 13, 1987.
