St. Francis Dam in San Francisquito Canyon near Saugus was completed in 1926 and failed in 1928. It was part of the Owens Valley Aqueduct System. This pre-failure photograph shows edge of the major piece still standing, and to the left of it a little of the water still left in the area. At the top left is a road closed by land slippage.
