Description
Varian V-42 multicavity klystron mounted on a steel base, engraved to Andrew Mulieri, "For 30 Years Service to the Electron Tube Industry, March 31, 1977." The V-42 was used in ultra high-frequency (UHF) television transmission. This klystron was the first of a series of Varian Associates high-power tubes used for radar and communication systems.
