Photograph article dated September 1, 1962 reads, "The jury in the murder trial of Sherman Oaks chiropractor Dr. Marvin Phillips entered its third day of deliberations today in Los Angeles Superior Court. Phillips, 35, is charged with murder in connection with the Dec. 29, 1961, death of 8-year-old cancer victim Linda Epping, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Epping, 5115 Cahuenga Blvd., North Hollywood. Judge Mark Brandler said if no decision was reached before the jury finishes deliberations tonight, no further deliberations will be held until Tuesday. On Friday, the jury, for the second time in as many days, asked that certain portion of thej [sic] udge's [sic] instructions of the judge's instruct- [sic] The portion of the instructions dealt with chiropractic law. Neither the prosecution or defense felt the request was any indication of which way the jury might be leaning." Pictured is Judge Brandler.
