Description
"Lusubilo 1935. Ziegelstreichen am Kandetebach." ("Lusubilo in 1935. Bricks being made at the Kandete Creek."). Four workers are making bricks by putting mud into a wooden frame. Their bodies are covered in mud. In the background a dense forest.
Today Kandete is a village in Rungwe District. -- Ernst Waldner (1898-?) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine and served in East Africa. He married Julie Friederike Ebinger.
