Description
Photograph of flood damage resulting from San Gabriel fire, 1924. A small bridge that goes over a kidney bean shaped pool of water stands to the right of center while a tall stone object, that could be a bird bath, sits on the left. The ground below is caked with mud and embedded leaves. The plants around the garden manage to stand tall in the thick mud while trees can be seen to the left and right. Photonegative reads "This Photo Shows The Rupert Turnball Grounds On South California Ave., Monrovia, North And South Sides Of House. Water Swept Over The Orchard And Grounds For Twenty-Four Hours Leaving A Twelve-Inch Deposit of Mud, Sand And Gravel. Views 14 and 15."
