Description: And their off! Horse and jockeys take off from the starting gates at Santa Anita Park. A field breaks from the gate and heads down Santa Anita's unique hillside turf course. The grade covers over a half mile before intersecting the main track. The contour angles right, then left, and is unique to the Arcadia course. Photograph dated December 21, 1980.
