Photograph caption dated December 31, 1957 reads, "Pet Mallard enjoys dip - Crippled duck adopted by North Hollywood teenage boys paddles about gleefully during his daily dip in galvanized tub while his white bantam hen companion peers in to find out what all the splashing is for. Duck has taken to his new backyard home and shows no desire to leave.
