Description
Two homeless boys sit on a couch with their mouths open. The boy on the left wears a dirty hoodie with the print "STUBBIES" on it. He leans his elbow onto the other boy's shoulder. The 80's were considered the "lost decade" because of Mexico's debt crisis. This was due to the falling oil prices that left Mexico without foreign currency to pay off its $80 billion debt. This in effect, increased high levels of unemployement. In 1981, 52.5 percent of households in Mexico were considered poor.
