Description
Pictured in 1922 are the Pacific Coast champion American Legion basketball team from Sacramento. After sealing up the regional title in February, the team was sent to Kansas City for the Amateur Athletic Union championships. They lost in the second round, claiming "an entirely different brand of defensive basketball is played by teams of the East, and it is impossible for a far Western quintet that is unaccustomed to it to make a showing against them."
