Description
Photographic portrait of a family outside of the F.M. Slaughter residence on Rincón Rancho, San Bernardino, ca.1900. Two men and four women stand on the lawn outside the rancho build by Raymond Yorba, son of Bernardo Yorba. They are partially obscured by some shrubs in front of them. The tallest man stands to the left, in suspenders and work hat, while two middle-aged women stand to the right of him, one thin, the other corpulent. Next, the second man stands with a white beard and similar dress, flanked to his right by two younger women, the youngest of which appears to be in her late teens and stands to the extreme right. No grass grows under the bushes in the foreground, and the soil appears tilled.
