Photograph of a view of Spring Street looking toward Fifth Street in Los Angeles, showing the Arcade Building and the Alexandria Hotel, ca.1953. The Arcade Building is at left and has a massive archway at center. It is a tall building and a metal fire escape can be seen on the side of the building at left. The Alexandria Hotel is at center and is a tall rectangular building that towers over the neighboring structures. At street level, many automobiles are parked along the curbs on the paved street. Legible signs include, from left to right, "The Arcade Grill", "Delicatessen Restaurant", "Typewriters Adding Machines", "Spring Arcade Building", "Engravers Printers", "Alexandria", and "Security".
