Photograph caption dated December 21, 1956 reads “This is an aerial view showing bridge over busy Ventura boulevard looking west toward Encino. In foreground is intersection of Ventura and Sepulveda boulevards. This bridge, which now is surrounded by barren land, will support modern El Camino Real, Ventura Freeway at it winds out of Valley toward town of Ventura.” The view shows Sepulveda Boulevard running north-south on the right had side of the image. The partial bridge, crossing Ventura Boulevard, west of Sepulveda would become part of the 405 Freeway. See images 00146988 through 00146995 for all photos in this series.
