Norwegian mission in Antananarivo. In the middle, dressed in black: Jacobsen, Benjamin Escande and Dr Bordigrevinh. Benjamin Escande was killed near the market of Ambatondradama, at twenty kilometers from the post of Ramainandro, the 20th of May 1897, when he was on his way to the Betsileo. He was buried in the cemetery of the London Missionary Society in Ramainandro.
