Scene at the Henry Armstrong-Pete DeGrasse fight at the Olympic. Armstrong scored a terrific right to DeGrasse's jaw in the tenth round. The blow pitched DeGrasse forward onto his face, yet he gamely managed to arise at nine and struggled to continue the battle to save himself from a knockout with only 23 seconds to go. He had to be forcibly restrained from fighting by Referee Frankie Van, who had stopped the battle at this point. Armstrong won by a technical knockout. Photo dated: April 8, 1937.
