Description
Photographed is the entrance gate to Folsom State Prison at 300 Prison Road in Represa, California. The prison did not have its walls fully constructed until 1922, only surrounding the prison on three sides. This gate was removed in the late 1920s to allow trucks to pass through more easily. Pictured to the right is the registration post. Staff housing can be seen just beyond the wall, and a watchtower further inside.
