Image of a small barefoot boy in overalls standing on a rock in a stream inspired by the poem by John Greenleaf Whittier; a dirt path behind him leads past a stand of trees towards a house in the distance at left.
"After Eastman Johnson. Original in possession of the Publishers. 'Blessings on thee, little man ... Blessings on thee, barefoot boy!' -- Whittier. Chromo-Lithographed and Published by L. Prang & Co. Washington St., cor. Gardner, Boston. Entered according to act of Congress, in the year 1868, by L. Prang & Co., in the Clerk's Office of the District Court of the District of Mass."--text, label on verso. "List of Prang's Chromos, May 1st, 1872... by L.
