Description
Flags of 16 new members of the United Nations are raised during ceremony here Sept. 30th. Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold (right, center) and General Assembly president Frederick Boland (left) Flank Bakary Traore of Upper Volta as his country's flag is last to be hoisted. Other colors raised were those of Togo, Somalia, Senegal, Niger, Mali, Malagasy, Republic of the Congo (former Belgian Congo), Congo Republic (former French colony), Chad, Central Africa, and Cameroon.
