Photograph article dated December 18, 1959 partially reads, "William 'Bill' Bolesworth, public relations manager, Los Angeles Division Safeway Stores, is retiring after 37 years of service, it was announced today by D. B. Kane, division manager. Bolesworth, known to thousands in the Southern California food industry as 'Mr. Safeway,' joined Safeway in Oakland in 1922 and served as supervisor and district manager of Meat Operations in the San Francisco-Oakland area. He was transferred to the Los Angeles Division in 1934 as a district manager, and later appointed public relations manager in 1944... Bolesworth resides with his wife in the Los Angeles-Vista area of Los Angeles. Carrying on the Bolesworth tradition at Safeway is a son, William, Jr., and a nephew, Burton Bolesworth."
