Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated June 20, 1960 partially reads, "James H. Woods, 83, of San Fernando, has patented an anti-smog device. Displaying a patent issued to him by the Commissioner of Patents, Washington, D.C., Woods explained that he learned about the handling of air and what it takes to purify it while foreman of a coal mine in the Deep Houth [sic]. He's a former superintendent of a Mississippi mine. Woods' patent is No. 2,937,712 and defines the device as an air decontaminator."
