Photograph portrait of an Apache papoose tightly wrapped in a papoose basket, strapped to a carryall, and propped up next to a bow and arrows, Arizona, 1880. The carryall has a built-in wicker sunshade to protect the infant's face. To the left of the papoose are three hand-woven basket stacked on top of each other. On the basket are drawings such as a human figure, a cross, a cactus and wavy lines. Picture file card reads: "a young Apache warrior."
