Description
Charlie Cooper's grandfather was Oscar Marshburn, who operated the stage line, transporting people to the closest train station to Whittier in Norwalk. His parents met in one of the first classes at Whittier Academy (later Whittier College), in 1893. He was born in the 1890s in Whittier, and spent his childhood in Los Nietos (South Whittier/Santa Fe Springs area). He discusses agriculture, daily life, and schools in early Whittier.
