Photograph caption dated September 28, 1954 reads, "San Fernando's Mayor Dan G. Spencer, standing, officially presents 'Old Faithful' 40-year-old fire engine, to William Fredrerickson Jr., superintendent of recreation in Los Angeles. Veteran piece of fire equipment will be on display in Griffith Park's Travel Town. It has bygone rubber tires, 25-foot ladder and brass radiator. It pumped 300 gallon per minute and traveled at 50 miles per hour in its heydey[sic]."
