Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated January 4, 1961 partially reads, "Miss Polly C. Nutter, a lonely North Hollywood recluse, died today. It would have been a routine story -- except for the devotion of the 50-year-old woman's one companion, a black and white setter named Mickey. The dog did his best after Miss Nutter's death to carry out her wishes never to let anyone enter the small, disarranged apartment at 11424 1/2 Victory Blvd. For a full hour, Mickey succeeded in his task. He bit one motorcycle officer...and he kept a dozen other policemen and detectives--all of whom could see the victim sprawled on a couch through the slightly ajar front door--at a respectful distance until the dog catcher came with his special equipment." Mickey is seen being led away by animal control officer, Mike Ferguson.
