Description
Arthur Phillips discusses his novel, “Prague.” He begins by explaining that his book is about a group of 5 men who meet each other in Budapest and become friends. Two of the men are brothers with family problems, and Phillips describes how he used his close relationship with his brother to give life to those characters. He talks about his day jobs writing for advertisements, journals, and speechwriting. He discusses his study of history at Harvard, and traveling to Budapest like his characters. Martinson asks Phillips to read a passage about a woman who stays with a man in a coma. He ends the interview by talking about the success of his book and the next novel he is finishing.
