Photograph caption dated March 29, 1965 reads, "For years known as just 'the main building' this administration building at North Hollywood High School now has a title, thanks to the senior class of 1963, which began the drive to name 'the main building' John F. Kennedy Hall, in memory of the slain President. After a year of going through 'red tape' and getting permission from the Los Angeles Board of Education's various departments, the new naming was sanctioned and the sign went up last week."
