Photograph caption dated May 22, 1962 reads, "'Perchance to dream...' of the day when there'll be no possibility of her being called a 'ham.' 'That day's already here,' the film’s director, Robert Mulligan, said. 'This little gal's a real trouper.' Unlike the more temperamental actress, Mary didn't so much as wince as she painted her 'name' on her costume (above left) and she couldn't wait to get into it (above). An exhuberant [sic] youngster, she relished the whole sequence - which is only fitting because what's ham without relish?"; See images #00130754 through #00130758 for all photos in this series.
