Description
More than 1 million salmon valued at $250,000 have perished at the Department of Fisheries Hatchery here near the Oregon border. The young salmon, due for release in the Columbia River, died when water supply to their pond was shut off. Investigation 3/31 led to discovery that the creek supplying water to the pond had been blocked. The FBI was expected to enter the case, since Federal funds had been spent to rear the young salmon.
