BAYMEC Municipal Election's Committee annual dinner attendees: (left-to-right) Ken Yeager, San Jose City Council Person Iola Williams, and Wiggsy Sivertsen.
Wiggsy Sivertsen co-founded GALA, the Gay and Lesbian/Bisexual Student Alliance at SJSU, and helped organize the first indoor Gay Pride Day Celebration at SJSU in 1975. Ken Yeager was later elected to San Jose City Council and to the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors. The Bay Area Municipal Elections Committee (BAYMEC) is a non-partisan, political action committee serving the civil rights concerns of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals in the central coast counties of San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and Monterey since 1984. BAYMEC was founded by Wiggsy Sivertsen and Ken Yeager.
