Selecting the winning entries in the National Sewing Contest, locally sponsored by the Evening Herald and Express, are, left to right, Natalie Bateson, assistant professor in the arts at USC; Marie Mode, Herald-Examiner fahion editor; Florence Wilson, associate in home economics at UCLA; and, Mrs. Edwin J. Loeb, chairman, Red Cross production. Edith Head, Paramount designer was also a judge, May 6, 1942.
